Duke School is incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of North Carolina for the primary purpose of education. The Duke School Stranger Things Fan Experience Raffle is conducted for the purpose of generating funds to support Duke School.
Purchase one or more raffle tickets during the Duke School Stranger Things Fan Experience Raffle timeframe, and you will be entered to win a fan experience for up to six individuals to visit the set of Stranger Things in the surrounding area of Atlanta, Georgia and meet and greet cast members.
Only 250 tickets will be sold. Raffle tickets are $40 each and will benefit Duke School. Odds of winning are based on the number of ticket entries purchased. Must be 18 years of age or older. Contest void where prohibited. The raffle begins at 12:01 AM on Friday, October 5, 2019, and ends at 11:59 PM on October 31, 2019. The prize drawing will be held at Duke School on November 1, 2019, at approximately 4:30 PM. All times referenced for the Duke School Stranger Things Fan Experience Raffle are Eastern Time.
HOW TO ENTER: There are two ways to enter.
- Enter online by completing the online entry form and pay the entry fee via credit card. Online entries can be accepted until 11:59 PM on October 31. (This is the preferred method of entry).
- Call the Duke School Development Office at (919) 493-9968 during regular business hours, M-F until 5 PM on October 31. Provide your entry information (name, address, telephone, email) over the phone along with credit card information.
TICKET PURCHASES: Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Duke School and will not be returned or refunded.
ELIGIBILITY: Present employees of the Duke School Development Office and any immediate family members residing with the employees are not eligible to participate. Must be 18 years or older to enter. Contest void where prohibited. You need not be present to win.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Winner will be selected at random on November 1. Winner will be notified by telephone, mail and/or email. If potential winner(s) cannot be reached after 10 days from the first notification attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited and alternate winner(s) will be selected by random drawing.
PRIZE: The winner of the Duke School Stranger Things Fan Experience will have an on-set visit in Atlanta, Georgia or a surrounding area in Atlanta, Georgia for up to six people at the beginning of the year or end of the summer/early fall of 2020. The agreed upon date will be confirmed with the winner and the designated representative associated with Stranger Things. The prize also includes a meet and greet with cast members. The prize does not include transportation, meals, or lodging. The winner is responsible for transportation, meals, and lodging.
MODIFICATIONS OR CANCELATION OF DRAWING: Duke School reserves the right to cancel or modify the Raffle. If 125 tickets are not sold by 5 PM on October 25, Duke School, at its option, may cancel or modify the raffle. In such a case, ticket purchases will be refunded.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Upon verification of the winner, Duke School will notify the assistant of Matt and Ross Duffer '99, Duke School alumni and creators of Stranger Things, and the winner and both parties will finalize all details. Duke School has no other liability after connecting the two parties.
INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMIT ON LIABILITY: As a condition of accepting a prize, winner acknowledges that Duke School is not responsible for any harm, injury, or damage caused to any person or property, proximate or otherwise, through the use of any prize by any person, and agrees to save and hold harmless Duke School, its principals, and employees from any claim of such responsibility. “Harm, injury or damage” includes but is not limited to occurrences beyond the control of Duke School such as death, bodily injury, property damage, or theft.
GENERAL: Ticket purchases are non-refundable and are not tax-deductible. By entering the raffle, participants agree that Duke School, its agents, and employees have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind which result from the date of the award. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Duke School is not responsible for any failure of communication or failure of the Internet or its website. Duke School reserves the right to modify these rules and will give prompt announcement of any rule changes. All decisions of Duke School are final and binding in all matters related to this raffle.
TAX OBLIGATIONS: The winner is responsible for all federal taxes. All local and state taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of the winner. Duke School will file IRS Form W2-G with the Internal Revenue Service reporting the value of the prize as income to the winner. Winner must show proof of social security number to Duke School. This is for tax recording purposes only and will be not be used or released for any other purposes.
RESTRICTIONS: By participating in the Duke School Stranger Things Fan Experience Raffle, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of Duke School. For further information, please call the Duke School Development Office at (919) 493-9968.
AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY AND LIABILITY / PUBLICITY RELEASE OF GRAND PRIZE WINNER: The winner must show proof of valid driver’s license and will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release in order to claim their prize.
AUTHORITY AND CONTROL: The decision of Duke School shall be final in all matters concerning the raffle. The raffle is subject to the laws of the state of North Carolina. The raffle is void where prohibited by law. Duke School is not responsible for any errors or omissions in the raffle’s advertising and/or any printed, broadcast, or web-provided materials or information.
