The Center for IDEAS elevates the creative process by bringing together science and visual and performing arts. With 14,000 square feet dedicated to imagination and creativity, our children will have unique, cutting-edge opportunities to learn and create.
Teaching students new ways to see, understand, and address problems in the context of meaningful learning experiences are increasingly critical as we prepare Duke School graduates for a future we can only imagine. But, for this to remain true, we must grow and evolve to help our students create beyond boundaries.
The Center for IDEAS will foster creativity in its many forms: elevate visual and performing arts, enhance technology and science programming, and allow us to increase interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and collaboration in a space befitting the quality of learning at our school.
A 300-person theater that can house our performing arts and musical programming will spotlight Duke School’s actors, artists, musicians, and technicians, allowing us to teach across disciplines and expand instructional spaces.
Dedicated space in the lobby of the building will allow our children's project work to be on permanent display for the community to see and be inspired.
This Center will foster creativity in its many forms and is essential to our students’ work.
