Parent School Organization

Parents are the backbone of Duke School, serving our community in countless ways and ensuring bright futures for our children. All parents are members of Duke School's Parent School Organization (PSO)!

Duke School's success is largely due to the extraordinary parents who volunteer to support events and programs throughout the school year.

Volunteering, in addition to providing enormous benefits to Duke School, also provides parents with opportunities to be involved in the Duke School community, meet other parents, and get to know the school in new ways. Due to COVID restrictions and regulations, our 2022-23 committee and volunteer opportunities will look a bit different this year. Please stay tuned for more information.

The PSO is looking for volunteers to help with different committees this year.  Please email the committee leads for more information!  We would love to have you!

One of our most important committees is Duke School's PSO L.I.F.E. (Learning, Inclusion, Family, Equity & Empowerment) Committee. The L.I.F.E. Committee serve as ambassadors, advocates, and learners to ensure a culturally competent and inclusive Duke School community.

In addition to events (to be announced) in the upcoming school year, we will be holding recurring conversation groups to discuss topics regarding diversity in our community. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join a conversation.

Upcoming PSO Events & Key Information

As we wrap up the first half of the school year we would like to thank our teachers and staff for the wonderful work they have been doing to help our children learn and grow.

This December, the PSO is coordinating a school wide giving effort to enable us to thank and acknowledge every staff member at Duke School- Classroom teachers, Specials teachers, administrators, afterschool staff, facilities, housekeeping and support staff.  Similar to last year, we will collect monies into one fund to encourage equity and fairness, celebrate the contributions made by all members of the Duke School staff, and to ensure that no one is left out during this time.  If families would like to honor their teachers or other staff members individually we are asking that only non-monetary gifts are given.  All year end gifts will be given to the staff and teachers prior to leaving for Winter Break.

To contribute to the Duke School December Giving Fund please venmo @JenRosen127 or paypal  If you have questions or would like to contribute another way please contact Jen at

A few important reminders:

  • This is completely voluntary and your participation is not required
  • For those who chose to participate- your contribution amount will be kept confidential
  • This is completely separate from the Dragon Fund- please continue to support our school and the Dragon Fund as well!

Thanks for your support and Happy Holidays!

Sponsor a child in foster care this holiday season:
The PSO Community Service Committee is partnering with the Orange County Department of Social Services to coordinate sponsorship of the wish lists of 14 children who are in foster care this holiday season. All of the children range in ages from 1-7 years old.
As you can imagine, the holidays are a particularly difficult time for children in the system, and bringing them their holiday wishes is a wonderful way to show that they are cared for by the community. Shopping with your children to fulfill holiday wishes is a wonderful way to teach them to think of others in need this season.
