Molly holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, and a master's from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Nate - Kindergarten

Jenn - Second grade

Jenn will join our second-grade teaching team and be paired with Cynthia for the 2022-23 school year. Gen - Sixth-grade Math & Project

Gen and her family are moving to the area after living and teaching in Gastonia, North Carolina, most recently at Gaston Day School. Joining the team in Building C, Gen will teach Math and project this school year, drawing on her 15 years as an educator. Joining a strong community of learners, and especially about Project, is what drew Gen to work at Duke School because the world doesn't operate in bubbles with math, science, English, and history all separate." She holds a B.S. from Brown University, and a master's from the University of California, Berkeley.

Matt - Sixth-grade Language Arts & Project

We are excited to welcome Matt to the teaching team in our sixth-grade for the 2022-23 school year. Matt is relocating to the area from Massachusetts and, prior to that, many years teaching and living on the West Coast. After searching for a school that has created an environment that values a student's voice, encourages creativity, and partners with the whole community to foster learning, Matt discovered Duke School. He holds a B.A. from the University of Oregon, and a master's from Lesley University.

TJ - Seventh-grade Social Studies & Project

TJ and his family are relocating to the area after spending years living and teaching in the Washington, D.C. area. TJ will teach social studies and project in Building A with our seventh-grade teaching team this school year. What brought TJ to Duke School? The warmth and welcome energy he found when visiting and by the idea that Duke School is a community of learners - of all ages. He holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond and a master's from George Washington University.

Matthew - Eighth-grade Science & Project

Matthew comes to Duke School after teaching at Sea Crest School in Half Moon Bay, California. He will work with eighth-grade students for both science and project during the 2022-23 school year and is looking forward to joining a school that is truly committed to project-based learning and to progressive educational practices. Matthew holds a B.A. from Reed College, and a master's from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Be sure to say hello to one of our new teachers when you see them around campus this year. Welcome, all!
