Hello!

Thank you so much for your interest in Duke School! We are happy that your search for a school has brought you to our website. Duke School, in taking careful precautions for all community members, will be postponing on-campus tours and visits. While we know that seeing campus is a preferred method of researching schools, we are providing videos of who we are and a look inside of our seventh grade project culmination. These will give you a glimpse of our exited learners and educational approach.

Linda Margarita Vargas

Director of Admissions

Bio
Linda started her educational program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a degree in special education with a minor in Spanish. While working as a bilingual special education teacher, she continued her education at UW-Milwaukee, in the English as a Second Language program. When she moved to New Mexico, she entered New Mexico State University, and rounded out her teaching licenses to include bilingual and elementary education. She was working as a fifth grade bilingual teacher when she received a full scholarship for a master's in educational administration with a focus on border politics and social justice. When she moved to Oregon, she began working in administration, where her focus was on students with unique learning styles and differences. She joined Duke School's faculty/staff in 2012. After three years of serving as the Middle School learning specialist, she is proud to be the director of admissions.
